Delin window, Phase 1

Went to the Tokotah today to pick out a Delin stained glass. Found a design that looks good. It's not as complex as the one I got for Tsogahl, but that's good, the Tsogahl one was badly broken. This one isn't too good either, but the frame seems to be mostly intact and I have glass samples for each of the colors so all I have to do is get the machinery in Gira set up and I'll start restoring it. If I get enough done, maybe I'll post some pictures.

Heading Up

Going up for a while to take a break and to go to the game. Really hoping for a win after Sunday.

I met with Jameson in Dereno. He wanted a link to the hood. Decent guy. Wanted to know what I was doing in Dereno. Speaking of which, I secured everything so it's all set for you.

Got the equipment set up in Dereno. Got out through the top plate. Looks like it may have been a maintenance hatch or some way for the D'ni to monitor the outside of the pod. Ladder's up, boat's out and tied up. Ready to go.

I checked on the tiles today. They should get here in another week..

I'm still looking for Jameson and "Ja'run." Can't find them.. Oh well.

Dereno Ideas

Whew... Busy day. Had some time with the funders today. Seems they still want a few structured meetings. I showed Clarke the transcript of Nick's discussion of the religious books and he seemed to perk up a bit. I guess I'll have to show him the King books sometime.. 'till then, he seems placated.

Talked to a "Ja'run" a few days (a week?) ago. Nice guy. Has some good ideas. I want Art to meet him, but I can't find him... He's like the Rils to my Nick...

Speaking of ideas, I'm going to try and find a way out of the pod in this new Dereno Age. It's the sort of place Kingsley would love.

More vocal rumors today that there are Bahro linking into the hoods.. I'd heard rumors a while ago, but I'm not sure...

I can't shake the feeling something's going on I don't know about...

Going Along

Things are going along well.. I think. Talked to Kodama today. The DRC is starting to appear more regularly. Excellent step towards better communication. Kodama said that the reason Kirel is getting a "delay" is that this new un-named Age is getting higher priority for some unknown reason.

I'm practically jumping around on my Relto watching the Yankees. 4 - 1! Though it's only Minessota. And they lost against some weak teams.. But the start of the season looks great, they already beat the Tigers once. I've got tickets to the game on the 31st, I'll have to go up that week.. Maybe mix it in with a supply run.

Vormaen talked to Sharper in his (Vormaen's) Negilahn. Sharper was apparently getting supplies to Teledahn and perhaps even visiting the "Teledahn II" area (I got a KI pic taken on a boat titled "on the way back"). The man hasn't changed one iota. He's done nothing more than wipe the slate clean in his own mind. He stole the translations because of some great "power" in them that could fall into the wrong hands. If this is so, I say they did. They fell into his. He also said that the power wasn't a danger in the wrong hands anymore... yet he refused to say if they had been returned. The DRC have once again been careless. Will it take more thefts, more break-ins, more deaths to show this man is incapable of getting over his own greed? He stole translations, he stole other books, he killed and stole portions of Shroomie, he stole Phil's Relto and with it, Phil's life. At one point I saw and read his second journal (now stolen from him in an odd twist of fate) of how he felt about stealing Phil's relto and his potential sorrow and regret and guilt. It was all an act, or it has all been washed away. It's now old news.

The board is set. The pieces are in place. It just seems all the moves have been forgotten.

J'taeri

Wow.. great day. First thing's first: The Investigations list seems to be working well.. Arthur just used it. It was confirmed earlier by Cate that the Kahlo Pub might be repaired (or at least repairs may begin) in about three months. Not bad. Nick said tonight that the crack in the Negilahn pod (and the creatures that may or may not be able to get in) presents no danger. All the other little updates are in the list.
Went on the J'taeri trip today. Exciting. A ResEng met Art and I at the docks and linked us to the Pub (He then followed us, I assume through a Nexus link).
The Pub is pretty amazing. Some small areas are still badly damaged, but the DRC's working on them.. Also working on getting some of the stuff that originally was in the pub back in. Not apparently a big priority, though. They're working more on Ahnonay and Er'cana, I think, before opening the pub.

They only let us take the one picture..And there's not much more I can say about the trip. We went through a small section of J'taeri itself (nice place. I saw some beautiful tiles. Got inspired about a design maybe for my Age.. Sent the design to the surface. We'll see how it comes out).

Also in the cavern Sharper is back down. Apparently unpacking and setting up shop in Teledahn. Might come to the hoods to say hi, but Nick didn't know.

Preparing

Just got the supplies for the J'taeri visit tomorrow. Included in that delivery were the two shirts I got off the DRC cafepress store. DRC says I can't wear them in the Cavern, though. I'm assuming because ResEngs wear the same shirts.. I already put in a word asking to be allowed to wear it.

Got word today that Sharper is on the surface, finishing getting some supplies for his work down here. He IS going to be working in Negilahn, sorting out what's going on with the animals there. Seems a perfect fit for the man. Not sure where in Africa he went hunting before (he reportedly went back to Africa since the end of the last restoration) but if he went to the jungles, he's sure to feel at home here. I'm surprised the DRC didn't let him into Negilahn sooner.

Additions to the blog... I changed some minor things on the Archives and I added an "Investigations" section where I'll put all the things I am currently looking into.

Well... meeting went well enough, all things considered. Clarke's still not happy. Kingsley's not happy, but he never is. And Whitefield is off day-dreaming. Wonderful crew..

Alright, on to Negilahn. Nick has said (now on a few occasions) that the reason the animals in Negilahn aren't seen that often is because their populations are dwindling due to over-predation apparently caused by age warming shifting predator migration patterns (An Inconvenient Squawk will likely come out soon..).

Connecting this with Sharper's return doesn't take that big of a leap. It seems likely, if not obvious, to me that Sharper will be hired to take care of the predators in Negilahn (and by "take care" I, of course, mean the opposite of caring a feeding them). To me it seems the perfect fit. Sharper wants to get back on the DRC's good side, the DRC want to have an Age NOT devoid of wildlife.

Other news from the cavern.. Some explorers apparently stole a book to another Age named Dereno. No one really knows what happened. Bahro, ResEng incompetence, willful theft. Regardless, it was made clear that no one should link there until it is properly released. Those that linked there noted that the age creaked and groaned, apparently needing more restoration.

And old news... The strange firefly sparkler has moved from Kadish to Eder Gira now. And there's now a bahro stone to the top of the temple pyramid in Kadish (beautiful spot).

There's some more stuff regarding Negilahn I might post this week. I got some photos of the wildlife I've seen there.. need to get those up.

Quickly writing this before I head out. Nothing like advance notice with Kingsley. Doesn't look good.

Other news: Negilahn creatures are being killed off by predators. More on this later. Got to go.

Summoning Sharper

Douglas Sharper is back. I spent a good part of the afternoon as part of a giant handlebar mustache and, regardless of the man's past, I think it may be a good thing he's back. Perhaps he can counterbalance the constant pushing Cate does. Or perhaps he'll destabilize the whole cavern and we'll have chaos again. Either way, I don't think we can stop it.

To make a long story short (which I will, since it's lat and I'm tired) After a short while, Nick White showed up and examined the quality of the neighborhood's mustache. He then opened his KI and proclaimed that he had gotten a KI message "from the man himself" and quickly whisked himself off to Teledahn. After a short while, he reported that Sharper was going to be busy with a meeting with the DRC and wasn't going to show up (as of this entry, maybe he'll find some time after the meeting).

We shall see... we shall see...

From: NegilahnWow.. yesterday was hectic.. Rescheduled the J'taeri visit for this next week. Then I hear the DRC put out Negilahn. A bunch of us, vid, Moietay, Mookie, Gondar, all went to Tay's pod just to explore and see if we could figure out any puzzles inside. An interesting idea was brought up, that maybe Negilahn is just an age to walk through and experience. I'd like that. Even the old journey Ages, one day, maybe the cloths will disappear and we can all walk through them and experience them just as Ages. Still, there have been reports of people being linked to a Bahro cave.
